Security of “off-grid” platforms

Back to knowledge base

Ways to ensure maximum passenger and facility safety with fully autonomous infrastructure systems.

A stay on a floating object that is completely independent of land infrastructure represents the pinnacle of freedom and luxury. However, "off-grid" autonomy at sea brings with it specific security challenges. When you are left to your own devices, beyond the reach of the local electricity and water supply network, the technology on which the facility rests must not fail.

Maximum protection of passengers and the facility is not achieved by chance. It is the result of precise engineering, from smart weight distribution to the selection of indestructible materials.

1. Active stabilization with PLC liquid ballast systems

The biggest challenge of any floating facility, especially one with complex superstructures and tanks, is maintaining a perfect horizontal plane. What happens when a large group of people gather on one side of the platform or when strong winds create pressure on the side?

Our off-grid platforms solve this problem by integrating advanced active liquid ballast systems. These systems are controlled by a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) that reads the tilt of the object in real time using sensors. In a split second, the system automatically pumps ballast water from one chamber to the other, compensating for any asymmetrical load. The result is unwavering stability that gives passengers the maximum sense of security, regardless of the conditions.

2. Unsinkability of the high HDPE hull

The foundation of any safe platform is its hull. Traditional pontoons are often susceptible to impacts and damage. Our design relies on interlocking hexagonal modules, each 1.2 meters high, made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

The 20 mm thick HDPE material is extremely resistant to mechanical damage, wave impacts and grounding. Since the platform consists of several independent hexagonal chambers connected by a robust 316 stainless steel frame, a so-called multi-chamber system is created. Even in the extreme, theoretical case of a single chamber being punctured, the object retains its full buoyancy and unsinkability.

3. Safety of movement with specialized coatings

Water and moisture create slippery surfaces, which is one of the most common causes of injuries on boats. The aesthetics of our platforms that mimic natural rocks are not only visually attractive, but also serve a key safety function.

By using polyurea mixed with quartz sand to treat the edges and deck, we create an extremely strong and durable anti-slip surface. With an internal filling of 2K polyurethane foam (density 60 kg/m³), these edges are waterproof and safe to walk on even in the most demanding wet conditions.

4. Reliability of autonomous infrastructure systems

A true "off-grid" facility must safely store and manage resources. Integrated tanks for technical water and completely insulated black and gray tanks are strategically located inside the hull to further lower the object's center of gravity. Power systems are designed with multiple redundancy (backup options), ensuring that vital systems such as PLC ballasts and lighting are never without power.

Security that allows relaxation

True luxury is peace of mind. Our platforms are designed so that you don't have to think about technology at all.
