When you imagine the perfect seaside vacation, you probably don't imagine staying on a cold, industrial piece of plastic or concrete. Exclusive nautical tourism and private oases require harmony with nature. The facility must visually blend into the environment, respecting the beauty of the natural bays in which it is located.
This is exactly where our theming technology comes to the fore. Instead of the classic flat edges, the sides of our floating platforms are designed to faithfully mimic coastal rocks. Behind this perfect visual illusion hides a superior three-step engineering process that ensures the object's durability, safety and unsinkability.
1. Base: 316 stainless steel construction
The process of creating artificial rocks begins with the creation of a solid “skeleton”. The supporting framework of the theme is exclusively used marine grade stainless steel (INOX 316).
This material is the absolute standard in the maritime industry due to its resistance to corrosion, sea salt and extreme weather conditions. By skillfully bending and welding stainless steel profiles around the base of the platform, our engineers pre-define the rough, irregular contours of the future rocks, ensuring that each object takes on a unique, authentic shape that does not look molded and artificial.
2. Volume and sculptural design: 2K Polyurethane foam
After the steel frame is installed, the process of adding mass begins. It is applied over the structure 2K high-density polyurethane foam (60 kg/m³).
This specific material has a dual role. From an engineering perspective, it is completely closed-cell waterproof, meaning it does not absorb water. Its exceptional lightness and volume add a huge amount of additional buoyancy to the platform, making it even more stable. On the artistic side, once the foam has hardened, our craftsmen sculpt it, carving cracks, folds and sharp edges that perfectly mimic the natural erosion of the stone by the sea and wind.
3. Coating and texture: Polyurea enriched with quartz sand
The final and most important step is to protect the sculpted shape. A layer of high-tech polyurethane foam is applied over the polyureas. Polyurea is a revolutionary polymer coating that dries in a few seconds, creating an impenetrable, waterproofing membrane resistant to the heaviest mechanical shocks, such as the docking of smaller vessels (tender boat) next to the platform.
But the secret to an authentic look lies in the details. Polyurea is mixed with quartz sand and carefully selected pigments.
- Quartz sand It gives the surface the authentic roughness of real stone, while at the same time functioning as a superior anti-slip layer, ensuring safe movement of passengers even when the edges are wet from the waves.
- Pigments are mixed in layers to achieve shades that perfectly match the color of the local stone in the waters where the object will be anchored.
Exclusivity that defies time
The result of this process is a floating object whose edges look, feel and sound like the real Dalmatian coast, while beneath the surface they hide an industrial solidity resistant to all weather conditions. This aesthetic does not disrupt the visual harmony of the protected bays, which greatly facilitates obtaining permits for work in the most beautiful locations.
