When you're designing a floating platform that's expected to withstand decades of heavy wave impact, asymmetrical loads, and extreme temperature differences, there's zero tolerance for error.

Forget screws, rivets or industrial adhesives – such connections loosen, corrode or lose their waterproofing properties over time in seawater. That’s why the construction of our indestructible hexagonal hulls relies on technology that literally erases the boundaries between two panels: extrusion welding of high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

1. The challenge of joining massive HDPE panels

Our bases are built from extremely strong HDPE plates, up to 20 mm thick. This impressive thickness gives the module wall incredible mechanical resistance. However, in order for the platform to be safe, unsinkable and load-bearing, the edges where these plates join (to form 1.2 meter high hexagons) must be absolutely impenetrable.

The rigidity and chemical neutrality of HDPE mean that it cannot be successfully bonded. The only way to achieve maximum structural strength is to fuse at the molecular level.

2. Process: Hot air and HDPE wire

The art of making such a hull lies in the hands of top craftsmen and specialized tools. The process begins with edge preparation (shaping) to create the ideal groove (V-groove) for the weld.

During the welding process, the operator uses an industrial extruder and hot air dryer. Hot air (which comes out at a precisely controlled temperature) preheats and softens the edges of the 20mm base plates. In the same second, the extruder melts additional HDPE welding wire and injects this liquid polymer directly under high pressure into the prepared joint.

3. Monolithic strength: A joint stronger than the original

Unlike glue, which only “holds” two surfaces together, extrusion welding creates a homogeneous mass.

Since the base plate and the HDPE wire are made of exactly the same material, they are fused under the influence of heat into one monolithic, seamless unit. When the weld cools naturally, it not only achieves 100% watertightness, but also becomes structurally thicker and stronger than the original plate itself. In this way, we obtain a hull without a single weak point, completely immune to hydrodynamic pressures, torsional twisting on waves and impacts of logs on rivers.

4. Warranty for “Off-Grid” tanks

This technology is not only essential for exterior cladding. Given that our platforms are designed for "off-grid" autonomy, they hide insulated tanks for technical, gray and black water and chambers for PLC ballast inside the hexagonal hull.

Each of these internal partitions is welded on both sides using the extrusion method. This way, we invest in absolute safety – we guarantee that liquids from different tanks will never mix, and that not a single drop of wastewater will end up in the sea, which is the most important prerequisite for obtaining concessions in protected bays.

Engineering that knows no shortcuts

When choosing a platform on which to build your business or oasis of peace, you need to be sure of what lies below deck. Our production process guarantees a hull that outlives any competition.

Are you interested in a detailed insight into our production facility and the technical specifications of the materials?
